The Washington Post is one of Sousa’s most famous marches. Originally composed in 1899 for the Washington Post newspaper’s essay contest award ceremony it soon became popular in both Europe and the United States. This led to a British journalist dubbing Sousa “The March King”.
This edition makes the march much more accessible for younger bands, adjusting ranges and scoring. Lower divisis are provided for multiple brass instruments for players with limited ranges.
