Indian American broadcast journalist Nita Goel Popli, host of Vividh Bharti Radio-Washington, DC was interviewed on CNN International TV about her weekly community service program which was broadcast live every Sunday morning for over 20 years with an Arbitron rating of 75K listeners in the mid ’80’s. The program was started by Nita’s parents, Vinod and Sudarshan Goel, to serve the increasing population of Indian Americans in the metro Washington, D.C. area longing for community connection and engagement with their vibrant cultural heritage and Hindi language through music, news and interviews with U.S. and Indian politicians, popular Indian film industry actors, singers and authors.
