Artist erases her intricate drawings of endangered species over four years | ABC News

Tasmanian artist Lucienne Rickard could have made about $100,000 from selling her detailed drawings of animals. Instead, she hopes erasing her work will enhance the creatures’ chance of survival.

Dr Rickard’s Extinction Studies project came about after she watched a Four Corners episode about the dire state of Australia’s environment.

Dr Rickard pitched the idea the next morning, and two weeks later she was in the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery drawing.
