ABC’s chief political correspondent, Laura Tingle has come under fire after she called Australia a “racist” country.
Ms Tingle’s remarks on Sunday were in response to Opposition Leader Peter Dutton’s budget reply earlier this month where he pledged to slash permanent migration numbers.
The Australian Media Writer Sophie Elsworth joined Sky News host Chris Kenny to discuss Ms tingle’s remarks at the Sydney Writers Festival on Sunday.
“The ABC have a very serious problem on their hands,” Ms Elsworth said.
“Laura Tingle is not only their chief political correspondent for their flagship program on politics on the 7:30 report, she is the ABC staff elected board member. Now they have a problem because she is coming out with very partisan views.
“So this is an absolute nightmare for the ABC.”
