Residents in Far North Queensland are being urged to conserve water, with fears more heavy rain could hamper recovery from last month’s floods.
The monsoon trough over northern Australia has brought more rain to sodden regions after ex-tropical Cyclone Jasper, with humid, stormy weather expected to to continue into next week, according to the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM).
The BOM’s earlier severe weather warning between Wujal Wujal and Port Douglas has been cancelled, although there’s a slight chance heavy rain could develop again about the North Tropical Coast tonight.
