House demolitions mark start of bid to fix traffic congestion at Hobart's Southern Outlet | ABC News

On Dynnyrne Road in Hobart, the streetscape is starting to change.

Three properties are currently in the process of being demolished, as works get underway for the construction of a fifth lane on the Southern Outlet.

The aim of the Southern Outlet project is to reduce traffic congestion into the CBD for those commuting from the Huon Valley and Kingston, which regularly results in a bottleneck during peak hour.
